In Davidson Town Council’s Strategic Plan, one of the values identified was transparency in municipal decision making, finances, and communication. Council’s Corner will focus on these strategic priorities as it relates to the Strategic Action Plan:
1. Engagement, Communications and Team Work

Bylaw 828 has received approval from the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, with rate adjustments coming into effect April 1st. For an average household using the minimum billing amount, the increase would be $76.80 per year. The last rate increase occurred in 2008 for sewer, 2015 for water, and 2016 for the infrastructure fee. Utility bills will now be due in 30 days. Bylaws are posted on the Town of Davidson website under Town / Bylaws & Policies.
Council approved a motion to continue supporting STARS with a $2 per capita donation in 2026. STARS provides vital critical care services, and the Town is pleased to contribute through this funding.
Infrastructure
Council received an update from the Ministry of Highways regarding the Enterprise Lane intersection project. A detailed design consultant is now in place, and survey and drilling work have been completed. The project is moving into final geometric design and land procurement, with tendering anticipated in late fall and construction planned for 2027. The Town will explore a potential partnership with Highways for the design and construction of its portion of Enterprise Lane.
Virtue Construction has been contracted to provide the spring street sweeping, with plans to have the Town’s street sweeper in use for the fall sweeping.
Public Works staff have been busy with the storm drains during this quick spring melt. Work on the King Edward/Third Street drainage study should be complete this spring.
The Town will once again conduct a Dutch Elm Disease survey this summer. As a reminder, the provincial Dutch Elm pruning ban is in effect from April 1 to August 31.
