In Davidson Town Council’s Strategic Plan, one of the values identified was transparency in municipal decision making, finances, and communication. Council’s Corner will focus on these strategic priorities as it relates to the Strategic Action Plan:
Engagement, Communications and Team Work
We were pleased to take part in the “Welcome to Davidson” morning with Dr. Warren and thank everyone who helped with the meet & greet and town tour. We look forward to Dr. Warren joining the Davidson Primary Care Clinic in October.
Please join us in welcoming Seann Harper, our new Public Works employee, to the Davidson team! We’re excited to have Seann join our community and look forward to the skills and energy he will bring to keeping our town running smoothly. If you see Seann out and about, be sure to say hello and give him a warm Davidson welcome!
Thank you to our Communities in Bloom group for their ongoing work to keep Davidson beautiful, and for the lovely park benches and garbage bins they’ve added to Arnold Park.
A big thank you to KalTire, Riverbend Co-op, and Panther Industries for supporting local groups and their fundraising efforts by hosting/sponsoring summer BBQs.
Infrastructure
The Town is working on touch-ups to the grey section of the Coffee Pot to address areas where rust is starting to appear.
Thanks to a grant opportunity from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, initiated by our Rec Director, we were able to complete a Greenhouse Gas Reduction Pathway Feasibility Study for the AGT Centre and Town Hall. The report was presented at the July Council meeting and will help Council set priorities to improve energy efficiency at both facilities, reducing operational costs. It will also position us to apply for future funding opportunities.
Fire hydrant repairs are ongoing. Council has also approved the purchase of a specialized tool for operating hydrants and valves, which will enhance safety for our staff.
Council approved the purchase of a new Grasshopper front-mount mower at a cost of $34,667.52.
Recreation and Cultural Programs
Mark your calendars – Fall Friendship Night has been set for Wednesday, October 22nd.

Interested in working at the AGT Centre this winter? Multiple seasonal positions and one year-round full-time position (recreation facilities, etc.) will be posted in August. Keep an eye out or share with someone who might be interested!
If you have questions or would like more information on any of these projects, please contact the Town Office.
