What you can expect from nursing foot care: Complete foot assessments and treatments by a
certified foot care nurse that can tailor the treatment to specific foot care needs.
Assessment(s) including: Health history, medication and other pertinent information. Physical
assessment to identify ongoing conditions, monitoring of chronic and acute foot conditions. Sensory
testing will be done and education based on identified risk factors, client questions and foot health.
Treatment(s) including: trim/file thickened, hard and/or fungal nails. Reduction of corns, calluses,
ingrown toenails and diabetic treatments.
Why should you choose a Certified Foot Care Nurse to take care of your feet? If you have
diabetes, poor circulation, decreased sensation, thickening toenails, ingrown toenails, swelling of the
lower legs and/or any other medical condition that can lead to poor foot health. A licensed nurse
understands the pathology of disease and impacts of medication on the body allowing them to tailor
your treatments and education. The standards set by their nursing license ensures they are using
equipment properly and sterilization processes set out by SHA to prevent adverse outcomes.
Cost: Foot care is a non taxable medical service and should be claimed as a health service on your
income tax. Some insurance companies will cover the cost. I am available to travel to rural/farm
homes at additional cost.
